This is a delicious dal recipe, usually served with either plain rice or jeera rice.
Serves: 2-3 people
Ingredients
1 cup tur dal
½ cup finely chopped onion
1 tsp garlic-ginger paste
2-3 green chillies
2 tbsp chopped green coriander
4-5 dry red chillies
1 medium size onion (long slices)
Salt as per taste
1 tsp jeera
½ tsp garam masala
4 tbsp- oil/ ghee
Method
1) Wash and soak tur dal in 1 cup water for ½ an hour and pressure-cook till done.
2) Heat ghee in a kadai, and fry long slices of onion till crisp. Keep them aside.
3) Fry dry red chillies and keep them aside.
4) Add jeera to the hot ghee, and when it starts to change its colour, add garlic-ginger
paste, long cut green chillies, chopped onion, and sauté till onion turns translucent.
5) Add cooked Toor Dal, garam masala, salt and a little water (as per desired
consistency), and bring it to a boil.
6) Garnish with fried red chillies, fried onion, and chopped green coriander.
7) Ready to serve.
