The festive season is nearly upon us! Here is a mouth watering snack that you can prepare for this Diwali.
Ingredients for Bhajani
8 cups rice,
3 cups split Chana dal/bengal gram,
2 cups split Udad dal/black gram,
1 cup Toor Dal/Pigeon Peas
1cup Moong Dal/Green Gram
1 1/2 cups Jad Pohe/Beaten Rice
1/2 cup coriander seeds/ Dhane,
1 cup cumin seeds/Jeera
Method for chakali chi Bhajani
1) Pick, wash rice and all dals separately & then spread over a cloth. Let them dry in a shade, avoid exposure to sunlight.
2) Dry roast (without oil) rice & all grams (each item separately) till the grains are crisp.
3) Also roast Jad Pohe,dhane without oil. Mix all items and jeera.
4) Grind together all these items into a very fine powder. This flour is called 'Chakali chi Bhajani'. The grinding can be done in a good grinder or flour mill, so Bhajani will be pure and not of mixed quality.
5) Sieve and store this Bhajani in an airtight container upto 4-5 months.
