Moong Dal Shira/ Moog Sheera

Serves 3-4 people
Ingredients
1 cup Moong Dal-Skinless
1 tbsp Besan (Chana Dal Flour)
1 cup Sugar
1 cup Pure Ghee(melted)
2 cups Hot Milk
2 tbsp Almond slices
1 tsp Kesar- soak in 2-tbsp warm milk.
Method
1) Pick and wash moong dal and soak for 5-6 hours.
2) Drain the water and grind coarsely soaked dal using very little water.
3) Heat ghee in thick bottom kadai, add besan, ground dal and keep stirring over a low   flame till the dal turns golden brown.This needs time and patience.
4) Add hot milk and stir till the dal absorbs most of the milk, cover the kadai and steam for 3-4 minutes.
5) Add sugar and kesar-milk; mix it and cook till it dissolves and get absorbed.
6) Garnish with almond slices.
7) Serve hot.
