An unusual grandmother's recipe. Can be substituted for the usual upma.
Serves 2-3 people
Ingredients
1 cup Rice Flour
1 cup Water
1/4 cup sour Buttermilk
Grind to paste 3-4 fresh Green Chillies, 2-3 Garlic Cloves, 1-tsp Salt
6-7 Kadhipatta/Curry Leaves
2 tbsp finely chopped fresh Coriander Leaves
2 tbsp scraped fresh Coconut
2-3 tbsp Oil
1/2 tsp Rai, 1/2 tsp Hing, 1/2 tsp Haldi
Method
1) Mix sour buttermilk, water,ground paste, half coriander-coconut and rice flour.
2) Heat oil in a kadai, add rai, when it starts to crackle, add hing, haldi and curry leaves.
3) Add mixture of rice flour and stir. Let it steam for 4-5 minutes.
4) Garnish with chopped coriander-coconut
5) Serve hot with spoonful pure ghee.
