You can also use white-button mushroom instead of babycorn
Serves 4-5 people
Ingredients
500 grams babycorn
1 cup besan
1 cup maida
1 tsp red chilli powder
A pinch of baking soda
Salt as per taste
Oil for frying
Method
1) Cut babycorn lengthwise into long slices (Depending on the size of the babycorn, cut it into 2 or 4 pieces)
2) Mix maida, besan, chilli powder, baking soda and salt. Add water slowly and keep stirring to avoid lumps. Add enough water(about a cup) to make a thick smooth paste.
3) Heat oil in a small kadai for deep frying.
4) Dip babycorn pieces into the paste mixture and fry on a low-medium flame. Do not fry on a high flame as the cover will be done quickly and the babycorn will remain uncooked.
5) Serve hot with ranch sauce.
