Ingredients
½ Kg Surmai fish fillets (or any white fish)
2 medium sized potatoes
200 gm breadcrumbs
1 tsp jeera powder
1 tsp red chillli powder
½ tsp dhania powder
1 green chilli (chopped finely)
Salt as per taste
1 cup oil
Method
1) Put the fish fillets in a patila. Place it in a pressure cooker and steam for 5-7 minutes without putting the whistle.
2) Remove the fish bones and scales and then mash the cooked fish
3) Pressure-cook the potatoes, then peel off their skin and mash well
4) Mix the fish and potatoes, add jeera, red chilli, dhania, salt and green chilli and mix well again
5) Make cutlets (Roll into a ball and flatten evenly between your palm, smoothen any cracked edges) out of the mixture. You should have about 18-20 cutlets from this mixture
6) Take breadcrumbs in a plate. Dip both sides of the cutlet in it. Repeat the procedure for all patties
7) Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry both sides of the cutlets till golden brown.
8) Serve hot with tartar sauce or any dip
