A healthy Indian bread. Serve with vegetable sabji or any curry.
Quantity 12 -15 Chapatis
Ingredients
4 cups Wheat flour
1/2 cup Oil
1/2 cup rice flour (or wheat flour)for rolling.
Water
2 tbsp Pure ghee
Method
1) Mix wheat flour, salt & 2 tsp oil, add water as required for kneading smooth dough.
Apply 1-2 tsp oil to the dough & knead again. Divide the dough into 12-15 balls.
2) Sprinkle some flour on a wooden or marble rolling board, dip one ball into the flour.
Place it on the board & roll with rolling pin in circular motion,into about 3 inch diameter.
3) Apply a few drops of oil on the surface & fold it into a half moon shape,again apply drops of oil on that half moon shape & fold it into the shape of a triangle.
4) Sprinkle some flour & roll the triangle with a rolling pin in a circular motion by giving light weight,roll in to about 7-8 inch diameter.
5) Heat a tawa on medium heat, transfer the chapati on the tawa,roast it. Flip it & roast the other side.
6) Repeat the process till all the dough is used.
7) Apply drops of pure ghee to all chapatis & fold them.
8) They can be stored in a container for a day.
